ABOUT ME!
Nate (Gus) Gustafson is the State Representative for Wisconsin’s 55th Assembly District. He also serves on the Winnebago County Board, is the co-founder and Vice President of Winnebago County for Freedom, sits on the Executive Board of the Winnebago County Republican Party, and serves on the Executive Board of the Greater Fox Valley Young Republicans. Additionally, Gus co-founded Glacier Valley Applications in 2022 where he designs mobile and desktop applications.
As State Representative, Gus serves on the Committees on Judiciary, State Affairs, Labor and Integrated Employment, Ways and Means, and Regulatory Licensing Reform, where he serves as vice chair. Gus also had the honor of being appointed Chair to the Speaker’s Task Force on Artificial Intelligence.
Gus has also been involved in local groups such as Fox River Hurling Club where he served as General Manager for two years. He found his passion for hurling, the national sport of Ireland, while studying abroad in the Emerald Isle as part of the FVTC International Professional Field Study & Language Immersion program.
Gus has always had a passion for politics but really began to shine in 2020 when he became the campaign manager for now State Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara's successful Assembly bid. He also played a pivotal part in the campaign for now State Representative Elijah Behnke during the special election in Spring 2021. Since then, Gus continued his political success through Winnebago County for Freedom where he recruits, trains, and promotes local candidates for spring election cycles. This group has had the most success on the grassroots level since the Tea Party.
Gus was born in Appleton, Wisconsin and has lived in the Village of Fox Crossing, formerly known as Town of Menasha, his entire life and still resides there today. He is a first generation Wisconsinite. Gus is married to his beautiful wife Courtney since April 2024.
Gus has worked for various local companies including Festival Foods, Community First Credit Union, ThedaCare, and most recently Outagamie County.
